Product Description

 

BZ-6801-22-H is a two-component polyurethane encapsulant engineered specifically for new energy soft-pack battery modules, offering low density, UL94 V0 flame retardancy, and excellent fluidity for reliable filling and sealing of battery cells. With a 1:1 weight mix ratio and Shore A hardness of 60±5, it provides lightweight protection and efficient heat dissipation while ensuring compliance with strict safety standards. This adhesive complies with RoHS and REACH requirements, making it suitable for international markets and eco-conscious applications.

1.Ultra-Low Density: 1.09±0.03 g/cm³ mixed density reduces overall battery module weight, improving energy density and extending range in electric vehicles and portable energy storage systems.


2.UL94 V0 Flame Retardancy: Achieves V0 vertical burning rating, providing critical fire safety for high-energy soft-pack batteries and meeting strict industry standards for thermal management and fire protection.


3.Excellent Fluidity: Initial mixed viscosity of 400–700 mPa·s ensures complete penetration into narrow gaps between battery cells and structural components, eliminating voids and ensuring uniform heat dissipation.


4.Rapid Curing: Achieves full curing in 2.5–3.5 hours at 25°C, or accelerates to ≤40 minutes at 60°C, enabling efficient production cycles while maintaining high bond strength and dimensional stability.


5.Wide Temperature Resistance: -40°C to 120°C operating range ensures reliable performance in extreme temperature conditions, from cold climates to high-temperature charging scenarios.

Product Applications

 

  1. Battery Cell Gap Filling: Fills narrow gaps between soft-pack battery cells, improving thermal conductivity and reducing hotspots during charging and discharging cycles.
  2. Module Structural Sealing: Seals battery modules to prevent moisture ingress and mechanical damage, ensuring long-term durability in electric vehicles and energy storage systems.
  3. Thermal Interface Material: Acts as a lightweight thermal interface between battery cells and cooling plates, enhancing heat dissipation and extending battery lifespan.
  4. Safety Barrier: Provides a flame-retardant layer between battery cells, preventing thermal runaway propagation in the event of a cell failure.

Directions for Use

  1. Pre-potting Preparation: Calibrate scales, prepare potting tools, cleaning tools, check machine settings, check vacuum pump force, etc. 
  2. Product Pre-treatment: Place product on a level surface or fixture. Remove dust, clean, degrease, and dry if necessary.
  3. Accurate Proportioning: Manual operation requires precise mixing according to the specified ratio and recording. Machine potting requires calibrated ratios and first-article confirmation is recommended.
  4. Mixing & Stirring: Manual operation requires thorough stirring or using electric stirrers to ensure homogeneous mixing. Machine potting requires sufficient stirring speed, adjust as needed.
  5. Uniform Potting: Manual operation should be done in small, multiple batches to ensure uniformity. Machine potting should follow the programmed path for quantitative dispensing.
  6. Inspection or Secondary Potting: After potting, visually inspect as needed. Perform touch-up, bubble removal, or secondary potting if required.
  7. Curing: Allow the potted and inspected products to cure at room temperature or with heat assistance (recommended 60°C if needed), according to product and process requirements.
  8. Final Product Confirmation: Perform visual inspection and performance testing as required by the customer.

 

Packing & Shipping & Storage

  1. Hardener: Typically 5KG/10KG/25KG/200KG metal or plastic drums.
  2. Resin: Typically 25KG/200KG metal or plastic drums.
  3. Store and transport as a general chemical product.
  4. Store sealed, protected from light at room temperature. Shelf life varies from 6 to 12 months depending on packaging; please refer to the expiry date on the shipping package.
  5. When temperature drops to 15°C or lower, the hardener or resin should be stored in a warm place or heated before use for potting. Specific heating recommendations depend on the temperature drop; please communicate and consult with us.
